FRONT SEAT - PASSENGER SIDE Seat Belt Retractor. This is a Post-1971 style floor mounted retractor Works great! See NOTE1 at the end of this listing.

CONDITION: Excellent Condition, a rare find. Retractor works great, strong pull. The belt on the retractor is in Superb shape -- Excellent coloring. No frays or stains of consequence. Coloring is nice and even.

The Chrome buckle itself has no rust and is nice and shiny. Has minimal wear/tear light scratches. Cover for the housing is awesome - this is a part that usually get beat up, dinged, scuffed, etc. Nice shine, rear door works fine. This retractor is a optimal replacement and should provide many more years of use. NOTE: This is the "small / standard" sized male buckle (1960's-1971 mainly had the "large" male buckle). While all of them (1960's-1979) used a single bolt to hold them to the floor, the PRE-1972 ones sometimes had a small post that went into a guide hole in the floorpan, apparently to prevent the retractor housing from turning if the bolt were a bit loose.

They eliminated that in 1973 in favor of two nubs / protrusions (on the retractor base) that fit the grooves of the floorpan. Tighten the bolt well and they won't turn sideways if you are using this in a pre-1973 car. 1977 AUGUST - RED - PASSENGER FRONT RETRACTOR.
